SUN PICTURES BUYS "VETTAIKARAN"

In a move which would bring cheers among Vijay fans, Sun Pictures has acquired the release rights of ‘Vettaikkaran’ from AVM Balasubramanian and B Gurunath Meiyappan of AVM Productions.

At a time when the actor is implicitly making his political intentions clear (his recent meeting with Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is an example), the purchase of his forthcoming film by Sun Pictures, a part of the all-powerful media group Sun TV Network, is expected to give him immense publicity mileage.

Directed by Babu Sivan, a former associate of Dharani, Tollywood heroine Anushka is making her comeback in Kollywood with ‘Vettaikkaran’.

The debutant director, who promises that ‘Vettaikkaran’ will be a completely commercial film, with great songs, action sequences and a message, says: “I am really excited. It is such an honour to work for an AVM production starring Vijay as hero. His appeal and reach are just amazing.”

Vijay Anthony, who is scoring music for the first time for a Vijay movie, says “Usually, people say my compositions are full of energy. But, when they combine with Vijay’s energetic steps, the effect is bound to be something else.”

VETTAIKARAN AUDIO ON -SEP 17

As the audio release of Vijay’s much expected Vettaikaaran is getting nearer, the exitement of Vijay fans has reached newer heights with everyone eagerly awaiting the release date. Our sources provided us with a news which says the audio might tentatively be released on the 17th of September in a grand function to be held with Kamal Hassan as the chief guest. There are also likely plans to invite Amitabh Bachan for the event to receive the first copy of the audio.

This news is not yet officially confirmed, we might know the exact date and whos who of the event by September 15th. Whichever date it is going to be, its a real festival day for all Vijay fans waiting in anxiety to grab the audio.

It is a known fact that the Vijay starrer Vettaikaran shooting is on in full swing, but yet it is a quite affair with the team trying to keep everything under wraps. So far not a single photograph pertaining to the film or news about Vijay’s appearance is out.  The story is said to be different from the usual Vijay movies. The songs and fight sequences will be a feat to watch as certain novel techniques have been induced.  Despite the scenes with the second heroine being shot, the name of the actress is held a secret. There are many rumors about the film and no official press release has been given by the crew so far. For all the suspense the film is building, looks like it is gonna be a great treat for all Vijay fans.

Vijay’s Vettaikaran began rolling at Rajamundhry on Monday the 9th of March. The first schedule is devoted entirely to the shooting of Vijay’s introduction song in the movie. Reports from the sets are that the song is being shot on a grand scale with 90 support dancers (45 boys and 45 girls), the choreography is by Shoby. The song will be shot until the 18th of the month after which the crew will move onto the next location. The introduction song is being touted as one of the best of Vijay Anthony’s character.

Now, one wonders whether you have noticed the ‘nine’ sentiment running throughout this schedule. Ninety dancers - 45 girls and 45 boys - all multiples of nine. Shooting began on the 9th and will go on up till the 18th; again multiples of nine. Now, this is not an idiosyncrasy that we generally associate with the present day cinema. But this is something that has come to the notice of some keen observers. Let’s see whether this sentiment works well for the movie. Vettaikaran is being directed by Babu Sivan, will have Anushka opposite Vijay for the first time and is being produced by AVM Balasubramaniam.

Here comes news to elate all Vijay fans. The shooting for Ilayathalapathy’s next venture titled Vettaikkaran will begin in March, when Ajith’s Asal will also begin!

Produced by AVM and directed by Babu Sivan who assisted director Dharani, Vettaikkaran is Vijay’s 49th film. Even before it goes on the floors, film critics sayVettaikkaran might become a massive hit! Reason? Vijay pairs up with Anushka in this film and maverick music director Vijay Anthony will compose its music! These two are going to add to the film's glory, apart from Vijay’s charisma.

After Anushka’s Arundhathi has released, she has become the centre of attraction of Southern Cinema. Tamil movie fans have been eagerly waiting for her to return to Kollywood ever since she stole their hearts with her sizzling performance in Renduopposite Madhavan. She is definitely going to be a big crowd-puller.

Above all, Vijay Anthony’s music will play an important role in the film’s success, because his brand of music absolutely suits Vijay’s persona. So, we can expect trendsetters like ‘Nakka Mukka’ in Vettaikkaran which should be a double bonanza with Vijay dancing to it!

“Ilayathapathy” Vijay is touring the southern districts of Tamil Nadu to meet his fans and get first hand information about his newly released Villu. Vijay started opposite Nayanthara in Villu and the film was directed by Prabhu Deva. The star was in Coimbatore yesterday where visited the Ganga and KG Complex Theatres.After a short interaction with his fans, Vijay said that he intends to visit other theatres in Trichy, Madurai and Salem. He will also cover theatres in Pollachi and Tiruppur.

Last Sunday, Vijay received a phone call which overjoyed him. The voice on the other end was Ajith’s. Awed by Villu, which he is rumoured to have watched at Praarthana drive-in theatre,Ajith rang up his friend and colleague Vijay right away. Profusely appreciating the film and Vijay’s work in it, Ajith said that Villu is definitely one of his best films. Ajith was full of praise for the film’s astounding stunt scenes and Vijay’s efforts in them. Apparently, he also advised Vijay not to take so much risk while doing stunts. Well, all this must have left Vijay elated!

While Vijay will get busy with Vettaikaran soon, Ajith has already started working on his next film Asal. He is frequently involved in the film’s brainstorming sessions with director Saran on phone. Recently, Saran declared that Asal’s filming will begin in March and Ajith has already started working on his new get-up for the film.

It was followed by Ghilli and things changed for me'. There is no looking back for me now.
